The MyQ Group was established in 2004. The Group comprises separate FSPs offering clients service across financial planning and investment advice, short term insurance, pension and provident funds, medical aid and accounting services.

MyQ has offices in Durban and Cape Town and there are currently 48 advisors in the business.

MyQ manages a range of Collective investment Scheme portfolios that allow them to effectively manage client portfolios, underpinned by a rigorous investment process and philosophy.  This allows MyQ to implement their investment decision in the most efficient way in the best interest of their clients.

MyQ’s management team and investment committee members are Gary Watkins and Brett Bartlett.

Brett Bartlett is an incredibly ethical, astute and entrepreneurial businessman. He has extremely strong managerial and leadership skills and a profound understanding of business in all its divergent aspects. It is through these skills that he has steered MyQ, as the Company’s Joint Chief Executive Officer (CEO), to such heights.

He is recognised as a prominent figure in the Financial Services Industry, partly, though not solely, due to his immense Industry knowledge. He began his career with a retail food chain and then went on to own a string of small businesses.

In early 1997 he was enticed into the financial services industry and progressed rapidly into a managerial position, handling both recruitment and sales, where he truly found his niche. In 2004 hepartnered with Gary Watkins and started Momentum’s Franchise division and now owns five financial services companies, namely Quattro Life, Quattro Sure (short term), QuattroMed (health), MyQ Asset Management (Pension Funds & Investments), and Quattro Accounts (Tax & Accounting).

Gary started in business at age 17 as a young entrepreneur. He qualified as a (CRS) Certified Real Estate Specialist while working in the Real Estate Industry and at the age of 24 he was appointed as a Director of The Institute of Estate Agents. In 1997 Gary joined the Liberty Group as an advisor and soon afterwards assisted in the establishment of Frontline Financial Advisors, a Liberty Life franchise. Frontline eventually merged with another Liberty franchise, Avant-Garde Financial Services where he remained until 2004.

Gary is currently the Joint CEO and Founder of The MyQ Group. He is a key individual who is involved in management, training, and recruitment within the group. Gary together with Brett Bartlett and the management team a MyQ have grown The MyQ Group to a significant player in the Financial Services Industry. Gary specializes in Business Assurance, Pension Reform and Estate and Personal Financial Planning.

Gary started Momentum’s Franchise division in 2004 and he currently owns five companies in the financial services industry namely, Quattro Life, Quattro Sure (short term), QuattroMed (health), Quattro Fund Managers (Pension Funds & Investments), and Quattro Accounts (Tax, Accounting and F.D. Services).

Gary enjoys working with other entrepreneurs securing their business risks and helping them structure their business financial plans. Aspects he addresses are namely: Investing their capital to create wealth, putting measures in place to protect their wealth, structuring business continuity plans, staff retention plans, contingent liability plans, Keyman cover and exit strategies to name a few.

The portfolio’s objective is to provide investors with income and conservative capital growth with a focus on capital preservation.

The portfolio will be a South African Multi Asset Low Equity Fund. The primary objective of the MyQ Ci Cautious Fund of Funds is to provide investors with income and conservative capital growth with a focus on capital preservation.

The portfolio will have an equity exposure of a maximum of 40% of the portfolio’s net asset value. The composition of the portfolio shall reflect the investment structure of a retirement fund with a low risk profile and will comply with prudential investment guidelines to the extent allowed by the Act.

The objective of this portfolio is to deliver long term capital growth. The portfolio aims to generate a return of CPI + 5% p.a. over any rolling 7-year period. The portfolio maintains a high risk profile.

The portfolio will be a South African Multi Asset High Equity Fund. The primary objective of the MyQ Ci Growth Fund of Funds is to deliver long term capital growth. The portfolio will have an equity exposure of a maximum of 75% of the portfolio’s net asset value. The composition of the portfolio shall reflect the investment structure of a retirement fund with a high risk profile and will comply with prudential investment guidelines to the extent allowed by the Act.

The objective of this portfolio is to provide investors with moderate capital growth. The portfolio aims to generate a return of CPI + 4% p.a. over any rolling 5-year period. The portfolio maintains a moderate risk profile.

The portfolio will be a South African Multi Asset Medium Equity Fund. The primary objective of the MyQ Ci Moderate Fund of Funds is to provide investors with moderate capital growth.

The portfolio will have an equity exposure of a maximum of 60% of the portfolio’s net asset value. The composition of the portfolio shall reflect the investment structure of a retirement fund with a moderate risk profile and will comply with prudential investment guidelines to the extent allowed by the Act.

The objective of this portfolio is to deliver long term capital growth. The portfolio aims to outperform the Average of the Worldwide Multi Asset Flexible sector over any rolling 7-year period. The portfolio maintains a high risk profile.

The portfolio will be a Worldwide Multi Asset Flexible Fund. The primary objective of the MyQ Ci Worldwide Flexible Fund of Funds is to deliver long term capital growth. The portfolio will have full flexibility as to whether to invest offshore or locally, and maintains a high risk profile.
