APS Asset Management is a Cat II financial services provider who specialize in wealth and portfolio management. Analytics Consulting/CI is a product development and investment consulting firm that focuses on developing and offering bespoke product solutions and independent investment consulting.
The APS portfolios are proactively managed by an investment committee comprised of a number of investment specialists with proven track records. Analytics Consulting acts as an independent member of the investment committee and advises on APS’s overall investment strategy and monitors portfolios on a daily basis.
The investment process is aimed at providing our clients with a scientifically designed suite of risk profiled investment portfolios that are robust yet dynamic in terms of adapting to changes in investment market cycles.

Colla Kruger
Colla is a founder member of Pentagon Financial Solutions PTA (Pty) Ltd, Associated Portfolio Solutions PTA (Pty) Ltd and APS Fiduciary Services (Pty) Ltd. He is a shareholder and the Managing Director of Pentagon and APS and director and shareholder of APS Fiduciary Services.
He has a B. Iuris (S.A) degree and holds a certificate in Financial Markets.
Colla joined Old Mutual in 1988 where he qualified for the annual Top 25 agent’s award 8 times including the first year. He was also vice-president of Old Mutual’s 51 Club and Top of the Table member of the International Million Dollar Round Table.
Colla already passed the RE1, RE3 and RE5 regulatory exams required by the Financial Services Board. He holds the Key Individual position for both FSP 1722 and FSP 6949 (APS and Pentagon).
Jacob Neethling
Japie is a founder member of Pentagon Financial Solutions PTA (Pty) Ltd, Associated Portfolio Solutions (Pty) Ltd and APS Fiduciary Services (Pty) Ltd. He is a shareholder and executive director of all three companies.
He holds a certificate in Financial Markets.
Japie has a banking background and joined Old Mutual in 1984 where he qualified 16 times for the annual Top 25 agent’s award. He was a president of Old Mutual’s 51 Club and at the top of the table of the International Million Dollar Rand Table.
He already passed the RE1 regulatory exam required by the Financial Services Board.
Japie was president of the Life Underwriters Association of South Africa for 2 years.
Harold Lennox Nimmo
Harold is a founder member of Associated Portfolio Solutions PTA (Pty) Ltd, and executive director. He is the CEO of Cardinal Capital, a Johannesburg based Financial Services Provider. Harold has more than 30 years of financial and investment industry experience, including time with Old Mutual.

The investment objective of the APS Ci Cautious Fund is to provide investors with long-term capital growth from a portfolio that maintains a low risk profile. Investors will also be able to earn a reasonable amount of income.
To aim to provide a level of capital protection, the portfolio’s equity exposure may not exceed 40% of the portfolio’s net asset value. The composition of the portfolio shall reflect the investment structure of a retirement fund with a cautious risk profile and will comply with prudential investment guidelines to the extent allowed by the Act.
Investments to be included in the portfolio will, apart from assets in liquid form consist of equity securities, non-equity securities, convertible stock, preference shares and property securities.
The portfolio may also include participatory interests in portfolios of collective investment schemes or other similar collective investment schemes registered in the Republic of South Africa or of participatory interests in collective investment schemes or other similar schemes operated in territories with a regulatory environment which is to the satisfaction of the Manager and the Trustee of a sufficient standard to provide investor protection which is at least equivalent to that in South Africa.
The portfolio may from time to time invest in listed and unlisted financial instruments, in accordance with the provisions of the Act, and the Regulations thereto, as amended from time to time, in order to achieve the portfolio’s investment objective.
The investment objective of the APS Ci Equity Fund is to provide investors with long-term capital growth through investments in a diversified portfolio of equity securities.
Investments to be included in the portfolio will, apart from assets in liquid form consist of equity securities, non-equity securities, convertible stock, preference shares and property securities.
The portfolio’s net equity exposure will always exceed 80% of the portfolio’s net asset value.
The portfolio may also include participatory interests in portfolios of collective investment schemes or other similar collective investment schemes registered in the Republic of South Africa or of participatory interests in collective investment schemes or other similar schemes operated in territories with a regulatory environment which is to the satisfaction of the Manager and the Trustee of a sufficient standard to provide investor protection which is at least equivalent to that in South Africa.
The portfolio may from time to time invest in listed and unlisted financial instruments, in accordance with the provisions of the Act, and the Regulations thereto, as amended from time to time, in order to achieve the portfolio’s investment objective.
The investment objective of the APS Ci Managed Growth Fund is to provide investors with maximum long-term capital growth from a portfolio that maintains a moderate to high risk profile. Income will not be an objective of this portfolio.
The equity exposure in this portfolio will be between 0% and 75% of the portfolio’s net asset value. The composition of the portfolio shall reflect the investment structure of a retirement fund with a moderate to high risk profile and will comply with prudential investment guidelines to the extent allowed by the Act.
Investments to be included in the portfolio will, apart from assets in liquid form consist of equity securities, non-equity securities, convertible stock, preference shares and property securities.
The portfolio may also include participatory interests in portfolios of collective investment schemes or other similar collective investment schemes registered in the Republic of South Africa or of participatory interests in collective investment schemes or other similar schemes operated in territories with a regulatory environment which is to the satisfaction of the Manager and the Trustee of a sufficient standard to provide investor protection which is at least equivalent to that in South Africa.

The investment objective of the APS Ci Moderate Fund is to provide investors with medium to long-term capital growth from a portfolio that maintains a medium risk profile. The portfolio may create some income, but it will not be a primary objective of this portfolio.
The equity exposure of this portfolio will be between 0% and 60% of the portfolio’s net asset value. The composition of the portfolio shall reflect the investment structure of a retirement fund with a moderate to high risk profile and will comply with prudential investment guidelines to the extent allowed by the Act.
Investments to be included in the portfolio will, apart from assets in liquid form consist of equity securities, non-equity securities, convertible stock, preference shares and property securities.
The portfolio may also include participatory interests in portfolios of collective investment schemes or other similar collective investment schemes registered in the Republic of South Africa or of participatory interests in collective investment schemes or other similar schemes operated in territories with a regulatory environment which is to the satisfaction of the Manager and the Trustee of a sufficient standard to provide investor protection which is at least equivalent to that in South Africa.
The portfolio may from time to time invest in listed and unlisted financial instruments, in accordance with the provisions of the Act, and the Regulations thereto, as amended from time to time, in order to achieve the portfolio’s investment objective.
The investment objective of the portfolio is to provide capital growth over a rolling three to five year period by providing investors with exposure to an international collective investment scheme portfolio comprising a diversified mix of global exposure to various asset classes.
The APS Global Flexible Fund, the target portfolio, will diversify investments across various asset classes and is not focused on any specific geographical area, industry or sector. The portfolio intends to invest principally in transferable securities in the form of global equities (such as shares and common stock) and global equity related securities (securities with equity characteristics or conferring the right to acquire equity securities, such as depositary receipts and preference shares), real estate investment trusts (REITS) and global bonds (which may be government and/or corporate, fixed and/or floating, rated and/or unrated) which are listed on Recognised Markets. It may also invest up to 100% of its Net Asset Value in cash and/or cash equivalents (including, but not limited to, US Treasury Bills, cash deposits, commercial paper, short-term money market instruments and certificates of deposit) for cash flow purposes or as part of a temporary defensive strategy or where the Investment Manager believes that economic, financial and political conditions make it advisable to do so.
The target portfolio may invest up to 100% of its Net Asset Value in the units and/or shares of underlying funds which provide exposure to the asset classes in which the portfolio can directly invest, subject to a maximum exposure of any one underlying fund not exceeding 20% of the portfolio’s Net Asset Value and subject to the portfolio not investing more than 20% of its Net Asset Value in unregulated funds.
Investments to be included in the APS Ci Global Flexible Feeder Fund will, apart from assets in liquid form, consist solely of participatory interests of only one collective investment scheme portfolio, namely the APS Global Flexible Fund, being a sub-Fund of Ci Global Investments RIAIF ICAV, an open-ended umbrella type investment company with segregated liability between Funds, authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland.
The APS Ci Global Flexible Feeder Fund may to the extent that assets in a portfolio are exposed to exchange rate risk, the Manager may enter into financial transactions for the exclusive purpose of hedging such exchange rate risk subject to the conditions and the limits stipulated in the Act, and the Regulations, thereto.
