Asset Mix Solutions (Pty) Ltd is registered with the Financial Services Board as a discretionary financial services provider (FSP No 45719).

Asset Mix Solutions was established in April 2015. Asset Mix is a boutique multi-manager business that focuses on providing discretionary portfolio management solutions to retail clients in South Africa. The Asset Mix team has many years’ experience in dealing with investors and has deep insights into clients investment needs. The Chief Investment Officer, Mr Carl Victor Hugo has a technical understanding of the local and offshore markets as well as the mechanics of portfolio management.

The team, therefore, has an advantageous combination of technical expertise and insight into the end investors need. Although Asset Mix only recently obtained their Category II license, the Asset Mix team has many years’ experience in the financial services industry.

Broad range of investment advisory, financial planning, investment and fund management, insurance, retirement investing, employee benefit investing, wealth management and estate planning experience across most asset classes and for a variety of products, locally and offshore.   2006 to 2010:  Successfully launched and managed the Sunday Times and Finance Week Wealth Forums with Sanlam Glacier and Insinger de Beaufort as sponsors.

2006 to date:  Industry presenter and media commentator at financial professional conferences locally, London and in Australia.

Wouter is an Advanced Post Graduate qualified Financial Planner (Investments and Estate planning) with more than 17years experience in the field of comprehensive financial planning and Wealth Management. He is also a qualified Professional Accountant (SA) with postgraduate qualifications in advanced taxation.

Wouter has been invited as guest speaker on Business Day TV, Kyknet TV, Summit TV, RSG Radio and various other radio stations and a guest lecturer at the University of Pretoria.

Chairman of the FPI Certification Advisory Panel, Vice-Chairman of the FPI Pretoria Regional Committee, Member of the FPI Practice Standards Working Group & Member of the Marketing and Communications Advisory Panel. Wouter received special recognition from FPI’s CEO Godfrey Nti (23/10/2014) for volunteering and voluntary contribution to help raise the level of Professionalism as well as building a strong sense of community within the financial planning profession.

Wouter is actively involved in financial literacy education   and some of them include: JSE- hare trading game-coordinator and presenter at Maragon Private Schools, My Money 123 – Course presenter to various Schools, Business and Churches, Business by the Book – Course presenter at Doxa Deo group of churches for the last 7 years and has also been invited as Guest Lecturer at the University of Pretoria.

The investment objective of the AssetMix Ci Balanced Fund is to deliver long term capital growth.

The portfolio will have an equity exposure of a maximum of 75% of the portfolio’s net asset value. The composition of the portfolio shall reflect the investment structure of a retirement fund with a high risk profile and will comply with prudential investment guidelines to the extent allowed by the Act.

Investments to be included in the portfolio will, apart from assets in liquid form consist of equity securities, non-equity securities, convertible stock, preference shares and property securities.

The portfolio may also include participatory interests in portfolios of collective investment schemes or other similar collective investment schemes registered in the Republic of South Africa or of participatory interests in collective investment schemes or other similar schemes operated in territories with a regulatory environment which is to the satisfaction of the Manager and the Trustee of a sufficient standard to provide investor protection which is at least equivalent to that in South Africa.

The investment objective of the Assetmix Ci Conservative Fund is to provide investors with income and conservative capital growth with a focus on capital preservation..

The portfolio will have an equity exposure of a maximum of 40% of the portfolio’s net asset value. The composition of the portfolio shall reflect the investment structure of a retirement fund with a low risk profile and will comply with prudential investment guidelines to the extent allowed by the Act.

Investments to be included in the portfolio will, apart from assets in liquid form consist of equity securities, non-equity securities, convertible stock, preference shares and property securities.

The investment objective of the Assetmix Ci Moderate Fund is to provide investors with moderate capital growth.

The portfolio will have an equity exposure of a maximum of 60% of the portfolio’s net asset value. The composition of the portfolio shall reflect the investment structure of a retirement fund with a moderate risk profile and will comply with prudential investment guidelines to the extent allowed by the Act.

Investments to be included in the portfolio will, apart from assets in liquid form consist of equity securities, non-equity securities, convertible stock, preference shares and property securities.

The portfolio may also include participatory interests in portfolios of collective investment schemes or other similar collective investment schemes registered in the Republic of South Africa or of participatory interests in collective investment schemes or other similar schemes operated in territories with a regulatory environment which is to the satisfaction of the Manager and the Trustee of a sufficient standard to provide investor protection which is at least equivalent to that in South Africa.

This is a worldwide multi asset flexible portfolio.  The investment objective of the portfolio is to provide investors with long-term capital growth by investing in portfolios across various asset classes, both locally and abroad.

The portfolio maintains a high risk profile and will have full flexibility as to whether to invest offshore or locally.

Investments to be included in the portfolio will, apart from assets in liquid form, consist solely of participatory interests in portfolios of collective investment schemes or other similar collective investment schemes registered in the Republic of South Africa or of participatory interests in collective investment schemes or other similar schemes operated in territories with a regulatory environment which is to be satisfaction of the Manager and the Trustee of a sufficient standard to provide investor protection which is at least equivalent to that in South Africa.

The portfolio may, to the extent that assets in a portfolio are exposed to exchange rate risk, enter into financial transactions for the exclusive purpose of hedging such exchange rate risk subject to the conditions and the limits stipulated in the Act, and the Regulations, thereto.

The Manager will be permitted to invest on behalf of the portfolio in offshore investments as legislation permits.
